Auction Terms & Conditions Terms & Conditions: Regarding Absentee Bids: Your bid will be a blind absentee bid, which will later compete against other absentee bids, floor bidders, and possibly reserves at the live auction. It is not "ebay-style", where the bid price rises as more people make their bids. 5 people could be bidding on the same item, and the minimum bid price will remain the same. That is because they are all making blind bids, which will compete against each other at the live auction. When you leave an absentee bid you must make your best bid, and that is what is entered into our system. We recommend you bid much more than the minimum bid if you want a chance at getting the item. The estimates should give you a good guideline. This style of absentee bidding is kind of like a "take your best shot" style of bidding. Absentee bids will be executed at the discretion of the auctioneer. As a general instance, for a normal, reasonable, absentee bid, the auctioneer may start with about half of your bid and then bounce it out to the live audience or other competing absentee bids. Or, the bidding may begin with the live audience. Again, absentee bids are handled at the auctioneer's discretion. Also, on rare occasions we will miss executing an absentee bid. Direct Auction Galleries is not responsible for any missed bids.
All Items sold as/is. 15% Buyer's Premium. 9% Sales Tax will be Charged to Anyone without a dealer's Resale Number. Coins are not taxed. Items shipped out-of-state will be exempt from sales tax. Items picked up from our location will be subject to sales tax. Visa, MC, Disc or Amex Credit Card Required to Bid. Items won will be charged to your credit or debit card. Those who physically pick up their items may pay with cash or approved check. Shipping and shipping arrangements will ultimately be the responsibility of the buyer. For most simple pack-n-ships, we can pack and ship for $25 per box for boxes weighing 10 lbs. or less. This cost may be higher if there is heavier weight involved, or high insurance costs. For more difficult jobs, or if there is simply too much to be shipped, we ship via the UPS store on Devon Ave. in Chicago. We can bring items there to be packed and shipped, but you, the buyer, must make the arrangements and payment. Items won may be picked up at our facility the Wednesday after the auction through the Saturday after the auction. Hours are 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM. The Seller(s) Reserve the Right to Bid, with the Auctioneer acting as the Seller's Agent. Most Items will be Sold Without Reserve.
Regarding Shipping: Getting your items packed and shipped can sometimes be expensive, so bid judiciously. There are also limitations on size and weight of items to be shipped. You will be required to get your items insured as well. If you find your item is too expensive to be shipped or is unshippable, you will be required to pay for, and then re-sell the item you bid on at one of our future auctions without reserve. Our normal commission will be charged in these instances. In most cases, furniture can not be shipped through the mail, so we recommend not bidding on furniture unless you plan on picking it up in a timely manner or sending a truck to pick it up.
